It’s a guilt free brownie recipe that is packed with protein and doesn’t lose the brownie taste that you’re used to. The black beans might scare you at first, but give them a try and you’ll shock yourself with how good they are! My brownie loving fiancé can’t stop eating himself whenever I make them, so they’re definitely good enough for a dessert lover!

Black Bean Brownies
* Although the secret ingredient is black beans, these most definitely taste like brownies. Even if you’re skeptical, give them a try!
Ingredients:
~ 1 can (15 oz) black beans – rinsed
~ 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
~ 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
~ 2/3 cup almond butter
~ 1/3 cup coconut palm sugar
~ 1 teaspoon baking powder
~ 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Directions:
~ Preheat oven to 350 degrees
~ Combine black beans, cacao, vanilla, almond butter, coconut palm sugar and baking powder into food processor and blend until smooth
~ Transfer to a bowl and add in chocolate chips
~ Take ingredients by the spoonful and put it on baking sheet in the shape of small balls
~ Bake brownies for 12-15 minutes
* Makes about 16 brownies
Recipe adapted from Be Well With Arielle
